Users’ Perspective Of Their Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 And iPad2

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it! Better than iPad, May 22, 2012
By Bit Twiddler (West Bloomfield, MI USA)
After using an iPad 1 and iPad 2, hearing how everyone praises the iPad line, and knowing that iPad is seemingly synonymous with "tablet computer," I was ready to try the Samsung Galaxy Tab and presumed it would be a good, but inferior experience to those other devices. Boy, was I wrong. It is a far superior device to the iPad, in many ways:
  • It is lighter.
  • It is snappier. Regardless of specs, the Samsung just feels faster and more responsive.
  • It is easier to use. Yes, I said it. With the iPad, I have to hunt for things like the back button, whereas on the Samsung, it's always there at the bottom. Things just seem more intuitive on Android.
  • It is easier to program. You don't need a $99 developer license and a provisioning file that allows you to deploy to a specific unit. And you don't need to use a low-level, proprietary programming language.
  • Samsung's browser works according to existing global standards compared to other companies that change the way the browser works just because they feel like it. As a result, on the Samsung Galaxy Tab, all web sites just work the way they are supposed to.
  • It's less expensive.
A few days after trying the Samsung Galaxy Tab, I got the opportunity to try the iPad 3. It's still heavier, less intuitive, slower, and more expensive than the Samsung

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, May 20, 2012

Excellent hardware, expendable sd card slot, IR blaster, fast response, wonderful UI because of the best OS - Android, millions of useful apps, majority of them are free, yes FREE!! This second generation tablet is better than the first generation, but the price is much lower than that! Do not look at crappy Ipad (whatever generation) stuff. Compare to this tablet, Ipad tablet are inferior products but charge outrageous price! Save your some money for some useful apps, books, etc...

Android (the Google OS) This is the way to go. cuz it has the fastest growing applications. Look at history. The Apple will fail again for their unwillingness to open their platform.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Impressive Device!, May 22, 2012

I just got the Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab last weekend, but in the few days I've had it, I can say it's a wonderful device. About a year ago I was looking at netbooks to save weight and space when I travel. Then as tablets made more inroads to the market, I decided this would be the way to go.
I'm very happy with my purchase. The Galaxy is super quick to shift between pages, website, apps, etc. It loads pages quicker than any laptop, desktop, or phone I've worked with. I have an Android phone and through your gmail account, all your preferences and apps will synch up on your tablet too.
If you want entertainment on a plane or in your hotel room, you can use Netflix or the Samsung media hub to download shows and movies very easily. I like the OS, and the ICS seems to be great. Plus, you don't have to worry about what the folks at Apple like and dislike about IT technology.
The 10.1" screen also seems to have a better aspect ratio than the Ipad, which means websites look good in native resolution. You don't need to view things in their "app" form unless you want to. Battery life seems very healthy; I can run about a day and a half of fairly intense use between charges. Which leads to my biggest complaint: the power cord for the charger is only about 36" long, so you have to find a really close outlet.
Overall, I'm very happy with this, and will get a lot of use from this. If you are already an android or Google user, you will too!

In their own comparative review of the iPad2 vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, it seems that many of the users who have owned both iPad2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet found that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to be a better tablet on the following points:
  • It is lighter
  • Regardless of specifications, it feels faster
  • Easier to use
  •  Browser follows industry standard
  •  Easier to program
  •  Availability of free applications due to Android
  •  Healthier battery life
  •  Cheaper – value for money
Based on these points and the sample users’ experience, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 inch tablet is definitely a better buy! Highly Recommended!
