Zeppelin Air - Be Aware Of These Problems First Before Buying

What Is The Zeppelin Air?
The Zeppelin Air from Bowers & Wilkins, a manufacturer of audiophile grade equipment is a wireless iPod docking speaker system. This means that with the use of your AirPlay application from Apple, you are able to wirelessly stream your music to the system. The stylish and aesthetically well designed American football or rugby ball-shaped iPod docking system consists of five-speakers and five Class D amplifier systems with built-in digital to analog converters (DACs) - all enclosed within this black football shaped design.

It produces one of the best quality and crisp sounds compared to other products at the same price range category. If you close your eyes and you listen to the sounds from a collection of competitive products within that price range, you will easily pick up the Zeppelin Air as the best. The sounds coming out of the system is as if it is coming from a true component Hi-Fi system with separate amp and pre-amps with their full range of floor standing speakers. Truly awesome!

However before you search for the link to buy the Zeppelin Air, you should also be aware of potential area where you have to be careful to avoid problems that many owners may have faced.

Weakness Of The Zeppelin Air
  • The setup. This is a road block area for some people. However if you figure out what to do, then you should not have any problems at all to set up the Zeppelin Air. This is the MOST IMPORTANT - You will have to heed the setup instructions carefully. Many owners have reported to have their unit setup in less than 10 minutes! Again like all current high-tech products, the more experience you have with setting up products, the easier it becomes. However if you follow the instructions, the setup goes exactly as it's described
  • It requires that your network name and password to only contain alphanumeric characters. Also take note not to use special characters like the ampersand "&" in your network name unless you don't mind spending some time on trouble shooting
  • You must only use WPA/WPA 2 Personal, WEP or No Security. This is because the Zeppelin Air does not support the WPA/WPA2 Enterprise security on your wireless G-compatible router
  • While this is not a negative aspect, do note that you will need sometime for the sound to open like any other speakers
  • There is a bug which prevents an iPhone 4s from streaming properly via AirPlay. The audio stop to sound via the Zeppelin Air after a matter of seconds. Bowers & Wilkins are aware of this and I believe they are working on to fix that bug
  • I do not feel this a weakness but nonetheless it will be good to know. The Zeppelin Air comes with a stylish egg-shape remote. However being egg-shaped, it is confusing to tell which way is up or down without looking at it!
Is There A Show Stopper To Buying The Zeppelin Air?

I do not think so. The reason is because you are now aware of the likely problematic areas particularly in the setup of the Zeppelin Air, you should be able to steer clear of it. On top of that, if you follow the guidelines above, then you should be able to set up your unit in no time.

If you are looking for a wireless iPod docking system that is not only good looking and stylish but one that gives you the very best reproduction of music - some even say that it is better than those on the higher price range, then you should go ahead and get the Zeppelin Air. You can get Zeppelin Air from this link at one of the best price in the market.

Zeppelin Air - The Best iPod Speakers? Check This One Out Or You Will Regret It

What Is The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air?

The complete name of the Zeppelin Air is the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air Wireless AirPlay Speaker Dock. Even though its name may sound like a German air ship, it is not an air ship but an air ship shaped iPod docking speaker system from Bowers & Wilkins. If you are a fan of audio systems you will be aware of the fact that Bowers & Wilkins is one of the top company in the audiophile grade equipment. Hence you would count on a speaker from them to give you a high quality sound and you will not be disappointed with the Zeppelin Air.

The air ship shaped speaker system consists of five-speakers and five-amplifier systems with built-in digital to analog converters (DACs) to provide you flawless, ear-pleasing sound from a variety of input sources such as the iPod, iPhone, iPad and also your iTunes enabled computer.

The Sounds Of The B&W Zeppelin Air

The snazzy and well-constructed Zeppelin Air has wireless capabilities. Instead of just sticking your iPod to the speaker system, you can also stream your music to it with Apple's AirPlay technology. When you stream to the system, your music fills your room with a very well-balanced, detailed and magnificent sound with the 24-bit/96 KHz DAC technology with Class D amplifiers.

The highs are detailed while the mids are warm and full. Impressively the bass is magnificent given the size and design of the system. In fact this system sounds as good as a mid to higher priced range component Hi-Fi system with their full order of floor standing speakers with their separate amps and pre-amps.

The Connections Of The Air

If you need to physically connect your iPod to the Zeppelin Air, you will find that its iPod connector is one of the best designed in the market today. Even though most people will probably stream their music to it and control it remotely, the designers at Bowers & Wilkins have given a good thought to the design of the connector. They designed the connector with no sides so that you can even slot in your iPad on there. The Zeppelin Air has a metal bar holding it to take care of the stability and strength. As far as I know, this is something that is not available with other iPod docking speakers in the market.

The B&W Zeppelin Air

The Verdict
If you like listening to music and songs (but not through two small ear buds or monstrous headphones) where you get clear and crisp sounds as if you are at the actual event itself, then the Zeppelin Air is beyond any doubt for you. On top of that you also get bass that will rattle your windows, crisp and well-defined percussion and vocals that sounded like the singer is standing with the microphone in front of you.

Get a strong and well defined musical experience with this excellent iPod docking speaker system. If you beyond doubt enjoy your music and are looking at the convenience of Airplay, then look no further than Zeppelin Air. You can get one of the best price in the market today for Zeppelin Air at this link.

Which is better? Motorola SB6121 or SB6120.

Buying a technical product like a modem can often be very confusing for a non-technical person. As such if you are a non techie, I would like to make the comparison between the Motorola SB6121 vs SB6120 as simple as possible so that you can make an informed distinction as to why you need to buy the Motorola SB6121 or SB6120.

Why Are You Looking To Buy the Motorola SB6121 or SB6120 In The First Place?

The first question to ask yourself is why you are looking to buy the Motorola SB6121 or SB6120? Is it due to the fact that you are hoping to get ultra-fast broad services via the use of DOCSIS 3.0 specifications? Frequently the answer is "yes" and this is actually one of the main reasons why many people are comparing the Motorola SB6121 vs SB6120, two very good and extremely fast cable modems from Motorola. However the problem is that many just got confused and undecided on which to buy.

Before we go further, if you don't already know, DOCSIS stands for Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification. It is a standard for the use of channel bonding techniques to provide ultra-fast broadband and Motorola was one of the leading company that worked together with a consortium led by Cablelabs to come up with this standard.

Motorola SB6121 vs SB6120 - How Do They Stack Up Against Each Other?

Going by the product naming classification, anyone could have easily guessed that the Motorola SB6120 was released before the Motorola S6121.

However, I am letting you in to a secret. Would you believe it? The two products are actually similar as far as the technical specifications are concerned! Really, it is actually no secret at all if you were to look closely at both devices as even the product specification sheets from Motorola on these two cable modems are the same!

However, to warrant the increase in price, Motorola has made some cosmetic changes to the design of the SB6121 cable modem. The original Motorola SB6120 is rectangular and boxy in shape and while the Motorola SB6121 is also rectangular but it has a more rounded shape in line with the current state-of-the-art designs. The Motorola SB6120 is slightly bigger but thinner at 146mm x 146mm x 38mm while the Motorola SB6121 is smaller and thicker at 133mm x 133mm x 42mm.

The other difference is that the Motorola SB6121 has an on/off switch. Motorola is also replacing all its existing stocks of the Motorola SB6120 with the Motorola SB6121. As such, if you like the design of the Motorola SB6120 then you will have to rapidly buy it as it will not be replaced once all the existing stocks at the retailers are sold out.

Initially when the Motorola SB6121 was first released it more expensive than the Motorola SB6120, I guess for Motorola to clear its old stock of SB6120s. However now that there are fewer units of the Motorola SB6120 left, the retailers has raised the price to be more than the Motorola SB6121!

Why Should You Buy Motorola SB6121?

Now that you know the difference when comparing the Motorola SB6121 vs SB6120, let's focus on why you should buy either of these Motorola cable modems. From now onwards, I will just refer to them as the Motorola SB6121. As with all products, there will be some positive and some negative points and I would like to highlight these points for you so that you are making an informed decision before you buy either the Motorola SB6141 or SB6121.

Cons Of The Motorola SB6121

I was researching the Motorola SB6121 and looking at many Motorola SB6121 reviews before I bought it and surprisingly I could not find many complaints about the modem in those reviews. Some customers reported that the Motorola SB6121 was a little bit warm after running for sometime; I also experienced this but I easily had this resolved once I took it out of the cabinet and left it in a place with a good airflow.

The other complain is very minor. Some owners of the Motorola SB6141 mentioned that the Motorola SB6121 has a very tiny MAC address. It is true but it was not a problem for me. If you find it difficult to read the MAC address because your eyesight is not too sharp, then get a younger family member with a good eyesight to read it for you or just use a magnifying glass! Once you have activated the modem with this MAC address, you don't need this info any more.

The Pros for the Motorola SB6121

The number one reason for buying the Motorola SB6121 is SPEED. This Motorola cable modem is truly a SPEED monster! Compared with the previous modems that I had, I could not believe how fast this modem is. Coupled with my recently acquired Asus RT-N66U router, I found that the response I get is almost immediate; downloading of huge files takes just an instant and I get marvelous gaming speed.

In terms of design, my preference is for the Motorola SB6121 as it looks more current and attractive. On top of that it is also small and compact with good indicator lights.

Setting up the Motorola SB6121 is a child's play. Plug it in, provide the MAC address to the service provider and I was already surfing the internet!

Where To Buy SB6121 At The Best Price In The Market

Now that you know comparing the Motorola SB6121 vs SB6120 principally boils down to picking the box design and deciding on a small difference in price, making the choice is so much easier. I highly recommend either modems if you are looking to buy a modem that is easy to set up, very fast and reasonably priced. Click on the link to buy SB6121 (or SB6120) at one of the best price in the market.

You can go to http://www.sb6121.com if you need more information or technical specifications on either products.

News Flash. News Flash...

Motorola has since come up with a newer model of its best selling cable modem - the Motorola SB6141. This cable modem has twice the download speed of the Motorola SB6121 or SB6120. This new flagship Motorola cable modem really gives you value for money - especially when you can get the bandwidth from your service provider.

Even if that bandwidth is not available now, for the few dollars extra that you are paying for this cable modem, you are actually future-proofing your investment. You can continue using this cable modem without having to buy a new modem if and when that bandwidth becomes available to you.

I highly recommend paying a little more to get the Motorola SB6141 over the older Motorola SB6121 or SB6120 as you could potentially get two times more download speed over the other two. Click here to buy the Motorola SB6141 from Amazon now.

You can check out this article if you want to know more detail about the Motorola SB6141 vs SB6121.

Do you also need a new wireless router?

If you are looking to replace your wireless router or intend to buy a new wireless router, then you may want to look into the Motorola SBG6580. The Motorola SBG6580 gives you the speed of the SB6141 and at the same time incorporate the router functions in the same box.

This provides me the convenience as well as help me reduce the clutter. I do not need to externally connect the cable modem to the wireless router. I also eliminate the need for two power sources as I only have one box to deal with.

In view of the limitation in the technology that can be provided to you by the service provider today, overall the performance of the Motorola SB6580 is as good as that of the combination of the Motorola SB6141 and a good wireless router like the Asus RT-N66U, Linksys EA4500 or Netgear R6300

On top of that you are paying much less... depending on which combinations, to the tune of nearly 50% if you were to buy a single box gateway modem as compared with a separate cable modem and wireless router. As such I believe the Motorola SBG6580 to be an excellent buy.

Motorola SB6121 - A Super Fast Cable Modem You Must Check Out

The official name for the Motorola SB6121 is the "Motorola SB6121 Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem" and the name very fittingly describes what this cable modem is. However before I go straight into it and tell you why this is an exceptional cable modem that should be at the top of your priority list if you are looking to upgrade or acquire a new cable modem, let me first tell you what this modem is and you will understand why it is an excellent choice as a substitute for your existing modem or if you are looking to buy a new cable modem.

What Is The Motorola SB6121 Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem?

First of all, the important thing to note is that this modem is a cable modem. A cable modem is a device that allows you to connect your computer to a local cable TV line.

A typical cable modem receives data at about 1.5 - 6 Mbps as compared to the current 28.8 and 56 Kbps of telephone modems. For comparison purposes, Integrated Services Digital Network or ISDN receives up to 128 Kbps and Digital Subscriber Line or DSL has about the same transfer rate as the cable modem.

Buying a cable modem with DOCSIS 3.0 is important because the DOCSIS 3.0 standard enables channel bonding of up to four downstream channels and four upstream channels. What this means in very simple terms is that if you currently have a certain amount of throughput, you will theoretically get up to four times that amount with a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem. That's why when you connect your Motorola SB6120 or Motorola SB6121, you will immediately notice an enormous speed surge. By the way, you can check out the difference of SB6120 Vs SB6121 here.

By the way, the Motorola SB6120 is the predecessor of the Motorola SB6121. Motorola has been very successfully with the SB6120 with the modem getting very enthusiastic reviews from very happy customers. However the product management at Motorola felt that the box design of the SB6120 was a bit too "straight-lined" and today's market preferred a more rounded and sexier design.

As a result of that they redesigned the box and then called it the Motorola SB6121. I will let you in a little secret...this new modem model is actually the old SB6120 in new clothing! Technically everything is the same except for the box design. Like the SB6120, the new model is a DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem. As such if you have been researching the SB6120 and you are happy with the results, then you now know that both modems are the same except for the box design.

Why You Should Consider Upgrading To the Motorola SB6121?

Here are some very good reasons why you should consider upgrading or buying this model:
  • If you are looking at a cable modem that is very fast with today's technology, the Motorola SB6121 with DOCSIS 3.0 will give you that fantastic speed boost. It is very, very fast
  • Unless you like the old rectangular and straight-lined looks of the SB6120, it is well worth to pay a few dollars more for the new design
  • It is very easy to install
  • Small and compact - easy placement
  • Very reasonably priced
  • There are practically no negative comments about the Motorola SB6121 except for the fact that it ran slightly warm in an enclosed area. However this is easily solved by placing it in a well-ventilated place
If you find that you have been over paying and under using your current bandwidth or you need a speed boost because a new application, game, multimedia content or your current workload requires the more efficient use of your bandwidth, then I would highly recommend you to replace your existing modem with the Motorola SB6121. You don't even need to have second thoughts if you are currently renting your modem as you will definitely save money in the long run by replacing the rented modem with this modem.

On top of that you will not go wrong with this modem because with DOCSIS 3.0, you are buying into the future now. Upgrade or move to the Motorola SB6121 now for that super speed experience that you have been looking for.

Click on this link to buy SB6121 NOW and enjoy the very fast speed and that new internet experience that you have always dream of. If you need technical specifications on the modem, you can find it at http://www.sb6121.com.

Asus RT-N66U - An Excellent High Performance Router You Must Check Out

Asus recently released the Asus RT-N66U router to replace its highly successful predecessor, the Asus RT-N56U. Having been in development for some time, the Asus RT-N66U was built upon feedbacks from its customers on its already highly extolled predecessor.

Asus has made extensive enhancements to important areas such as the internal radio antenna, memory, processor, firmware and even the GUI interface to make the Asus RT-N66U one of the highest performance router in its class; even surpassing its predecessor the RT-N56U.

Knowing that their customers would not take anything less of its new flagship router, Asus has put in a lot of effort into this new product and the customers who have bought the Asus RT-N66U are now singing praises about their new router.

The Wow Factor - The Asus RT-N88U design
Even though most people have already seen a picture of the Asus RT-N66U on the box, they are often amazed, pleasantly surprised when they open the box and actually see the router itself. Following in the footsteps of the Asus RT-N56U, the sleek design of the RT-N66U almost makes it look like a work of art and it will fit nicely in your home.

As the Asus RT-N66U is designed for the connected home and SOHO environment, Asus allows you to place the router horizontally, vertically and you can even hang it. The stand that comes with it not only allows you to position it vertically but also allows you to adjust it so that it gets the maximum signal strength.

Performance
To get the highest performance, the N66U comes with two bands - 2.4 and 5 Ghz at 450 Mbps per band. These two bands give you all the performance you need. The 2.4 Ghz band can be used for basic internet applications like web surfing, emails and file downloading while the 5 Ghz band is used for movies, music and online gaming. The RT-N66U comes with three antennas and it supports all the current WiFi standards in the market.

The 600 Mhz processor gives the RT-N66U the speed and this gives it a high performance of up to 900 Mbps. It also has 256 Mb of memory to support this high performance.

USB Ports
The RT-N66U comes with two USB ports that are internally powered. The result of this is that you don't have to "waste" another USB port or use an external power source if your USB device needs to be powered. On top of that, Asus has also made enhancements to the USB ports so that the RT-N66U's USB ports are even faster than that of the N56U. The USB can also be used to provide wireless connectivity to your printer. If your printer has multi-function features like scanning, copying etc you will also have access to those features when connected.

Security And Privacy

If you are in a SOHO environment, small business or have a lot of friends coming over and using your network, you can assign up to 8 SSIDs for your friends or customers to a secondary network so that they cannot access your files. As such your data is protected. A direct parental control feature is also available in this modem.

Sharing And Access
The Asus RT-N66U is DLNA and UPNP compliant. What this means is that if you are in a connected home or SOHO environment, the router will seamlessly allow you to sync up and share files with other DLNA compliant devices like the PS3, modern generation TV etc without you needing to do much configuration. It also comes with a nifty "AiDisk" technology whereby you can access all your connected HDD, whether they are part of the network or USB based, through your local area network and the internet.

Automatic Downloading Without Turning On The Computer
The Asus RT-N66U also ships with a small utility that you can install in your PC (or it can even be a web-based application that runs on a smart phone or tablet) that allows you to automatically download files without even turning your computer on. This utility works together with the RT-N66U firmware to automatically allow you to perform downloads via Http, ftp, bit torrent or other sources without turning on your PC.

Straight And Simple Setup Processes
Asus spent a lot of effort to redesign the RT-N66U GUI to make it even more user-friendly than that of the N56U. No CD setup is required. Just turn on the unit and connect it to the access point on a wireless device like a tablet or mobile phone and you can run the entire setup without even switching on the PC. All you need to do is just to follow a couple of quick steps and you will be all set up.

You can connect other devices to the RT-N66U via WPS. With WPS, the N66U allows you to quickly setup the connection without much effort. VPN support is also robust in the Asus RT-N66U with its simple and straight forward VPN configurations that both the techie and the non-techie will be comfortable with.

Should You Buy The Asus RT-N66U?
Well that depends on your needs. If your needs are really simple, then it is probably not worth to spend your money on such a high performance router like the Asus RT-N66U. On the other hand, if you are in a connected home or SOHO environment, you will be depending more and more on your network as times go by. Data, multi-media and other files are getting bigger and more over time.

So if you think about it, buying a router is not an everyday affair. Neither is it a monthly affair. As such, spending a little bit more on a high performance router like the Asus RT-N66U now means that you most likely may not need to upgrade for a long time because it already has enough capacity to meet your needs.

On top of that you will also get to enjoy better performance, wider coverage, faster speed and other features covered above. So why wait any longer? Click on the link NOW to get the Asus RT-N66U and start enjoying all the benefits immediately!
